Joe Biden's Agenda for the Catholic Community

“I’m a practicing Catholic. I believe faith is a gift. And the first obligation we all have is, ‘Love your God,’ the second one is, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ … ‘Treat people with dignity.’ Everyone’s entitled to dignity, that’s a basic tenet in my household.”  – Vice President Joe Biden  Vice President Joe Biden believes that in America, no matter where you start in life, everyone should be able to live up to their God-given potential. A Presidency for All Americans

My fellow Americans — I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris. In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted. Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America. With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation. It’s time for America to unite. And to heal. We are the United States of America. And there’s nothing we can’t do, if we do it together.

Candidate John F. Kennedy Campaigned in Pennsylvania on October 29, 1960

US Senator John F. Kennedy, campaigning against Vice President Richard M. Nixon for the American presidency, spent the final week before the election in Pennsylvania. “Kennedy hit hard on unemployment, the problem of economically depressed areas, and the plight of the Iron Curtain countries.  He spent a day in northeastern Pennsylvania, traveling through steel and coal mining towns, which suffered from "chronic ills and unemployment," reported the Belvidere Daily Republican in Illinois. "By the time he reached Scranton Friday night Kennedy had a bruised, swollen and slightly scratched right hand that attested as he said, that coal miners “really know how to shake hands.” PA Governor David L. Lawrence traveled with Kennedy on the trip.  Earlier in the month, Kennedy's father, Joseph P. Kennedy, campaigned for his son in Bloomburg.   Learn more about President Kennedy's 1960 campaign by visiting the JFKlibrary.org in Boston. To follow the Biden Harris campaign i

Jen O'Malley Dillon, Campaign Manager for Biden for President, Issues Statement on COVID Safety

Here is the full statement by Jen O'Malley Dillon: Around noon on Thursday, October 15th, we learned – as part of our contact tracing of the crew member on Senator Harris’ plane that tested positive for COVID last night – that an administrative member of the Aviation company that charters Vice President Biden’s aircraft tested positive for COVID-19. Vice President Biden was not in close contact, as defined by the CDC, with this individual at any time. In fact, the Vice President did not even have passing contact: this individual was over 50 feet from VP Biden at all times, entered and exited the aircraft from a rear entrance, and both the individual and the Vice President wore masks for the entire flight. Given these facts, we have been advised by the Vice President’s doctor and the campaign’s medical advisors that there is no need for the Vice President to quarantine. This individual traveled on the plane during the Vice President’s trip to Ohio on Monday and Florida on Tuesday, a

The Biden Commitment to a Fair and Humane Immigration System

Read Joe Biden's full plan for a fair and humane immigration system here . Joe Biden understands the pain felt by every family across the U.S. that has had a loved one removed from the country, including under the Obama-Biden Administration, and he believes we must do better to uphold our laws humanely and preserve the dignity of immigrant families, refugees, and asylum-seekers. The Obama-Biden Administration strongly supported the bipartisan comprehensive immigration solution that passed the Senate in 2013 and which would have put our country’s immigration policies on a much stronger footing. When the Republican House refused to even bring that bill to a vote, the Administration took action to fundamentally change the course of our nation’s immigration policies, offering relief and stability to hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants who contribute to our communities every single day. As Vice President, Biden championed the creation and expansion of the Deferred Action fo

US Presidential candidate Joe Biden sent the following letter to assure Americans living Abroad about his campaign and his promises if elected as President of the United States on November 3, 2020. September 2020 To All Americans Residing Abroad: This election is the most important of any of our lifetimes, and it is vital that we ensure every single American voter has the chance to make their voice heard and to make sure that it is counted – including the millions of American citizens residing outside the United States. During a global pandemic that has cost more than 200,000 lives in the United States and almost one million lives globally, President Trump not only has no plan for how to get COVID-19 under control so we can safely restart our economy, his administration is in the Supreme Court actively trying to overturn the Affordable Care Act and strip away health care protections for more than 100 million Americans with preexisting conditions. President Trump refuses to address or e

Joe Biden's Acceptance Speech at the Democratic National Convention

Here is the acceptance speech of Joe Biden at the Democratic National Convention.   Good evening. Ella Baker, a giant of the civil rights movement, left us with this wisdom: Give people light and they will find a way. Give people light.  Those are words for our time. The current president has cloaked America in darkness for much too long. Too much anger. Too much fear. Too much division. Here and now, I give you my word: If you entrust me with the presidency, I will draw on the best of us not the worst. I will be an ally of the light not of the darkness. It's time for us, for We the People, to come together. For make no mistake. United we can, and will, overcome this season of darkness in America. We will choose hope over fear, facts over fiction, fairness over privilege. I am a proud Democrat and I will be proud to carry the banner of our party into the general election. So, it is with great honor and humility that I accept this nomination for President of the United States of A
